Poetry to Power
The two-day workshop brings together politicians, young people, and artists to work through the practice of Poetic Operations.
Instead of discussing democracy in abstract terms, the group engages in a structured process that uses poetic material to reorganise how decisions can be made.
The work is based on a concrete political or cultural question defined in advance. This question serves as the field in which the process unfolds.
Participants extract operations from a poem and translate them into actions, rules, and relational structures, which are then tested and refined in real time within a shared decision-making situation.
The result is a score: a set of instructions that can be repeated and varied. It supports democratic decision-making by shaping participation—who speaks, how differences appear, how positions are negotiated.
At the same time, the score has its own aesthetic quality, functioning as an artistic form in its own right.
